Grow

The film is still in development and has not yet been filmed; it’s an ongoing project.

Grow is horror short film about Simon, a well-meaning but clueless guy, who buys some toys that grow in water for his nephew’s 13th birthday. Are these toys a bit too young for a 13-year-old? Maybe.

But what Simon doesn’t realize is that these innocent-looking plastic figurines contain
mythical creatures waiting to be freed…

This is a comeuppance story: nature taking its revenge over careless humans. A cautionary tale on the impact we have on the planet.

For this film, I developed the concept and created the monster costume on a low budget, with the assistance of prosthetic artist Connie Xu. We used a variety of materials and techniques to bring the character to life.
